Adaptive Skiing Center at Crested Butte
For years we’ve been skiing at Crested Butte Colorado, because of their incredible adaptive sports center. When we first started, it was a single musty room in the basement of the treasury building but we loved the staff and instructors and the feel of the place. It’s the sort of town where when we’d ride the busses to the town, locals would approach us and say they volunteer there because it’s so great. Both the town and the adaptive building have changed over the years—they now reside in a four story building with state of the art adaptive equipment, climbing wall, rooftop deck with view etc. But the instruction is the same.
If you or one of your friends or family need adaptive equipment for skiing or other sports, I highly recommend them. Check them out: adaptive sports center.
I wrote about this in a nonfiction piece (that I wrote as a prose poem) in the Maine Review, which you can read here.
